Plants & Animals

Colorado is a nature lover’s paradise. From big horn sheep to black bears, peregrine falcons to pronghorns, native Coloradans come in all shapes and sizes. With more than 960 species in Colorado, our abundant wildlife can be viewed in hundreds of designated areas around the state. You’ll also find towering aspen trees, the Rocky Mountain Columbine (state flower) and countless other forms of plant life throughout the state’s diverse terrain. Be sure to bring your binoculars and camera – you’ll want to remember everything.  Check out great viewing areas identified by the Colorado Division of Wildlife or the National Forest Service.
